SCANSOURCE, INC. ENHANCES INVESTOR RELATIONS FOCUS

GREENVILLE, SC - September 07, 2011 - ScanSource, Inc., (NASDAQ: SCSC), the leading international value-added distributor of specialty technology products, has hired Mary Gentry as Director of Investor Relations. Gentry will play an integral role in the company’s newly formed Corporate Communications group, which was designed to ensure all key stakeholders are actively engaged with the company on a global level.

Gentry will focus on implementing a comprehensive global strategy for building and strengthening relationships with investors, analysts and the financial community as a whole.

Gentry brings more than 20 years of financial communications experience, including investor relations, corporate communications and financial reporting. She most recently served as Executive Vice President, Investor Relations at The South Financial Group, where she built an award-winning investor relations program. While at The South Financial Group, she also served as Treasurer and Vice President of Financial Planning. Prior to that, Gentry worked for Marriott International in corporate finance. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
